Chip in for motion

How to send USDC to moep

When two people finish a poem, moep can turn the painting into a looping video. That motion is the one real cost, paid in USDC from a small wallet on the Base network. Here is how to add a few dollars to it, even if you have never touched crypto.

USDC is a digital dollar: one USDC always equals one US dollar. Nothing speculative. You are topping up a wallet that pays a render bill, like loading a prepaid card. About ten minutes the first time.
  1. Make a Coinbase account

Coinbase is the friendliest on-ramp. Sign up at coinbase.com or in the app with your email. You will verify your identity with a photo of an ID, normal for any money service and usually done in minutes.

Any exchange that supports Base works too (Kraken, for example), but the steps below follow Coinbase.

  2. Add cash

    Link a funding source:

    • Debit card is fastest, available right away.
    • Bank transfer (ACH) is cheaper but takes a few days to settle.

A small amount is plenty. Five or ten dollars already sets poems in motion.

  3. Buy USDC

Search for USDC (full name USD Coin), choose Buy, enter the amount, and confirm. The rate is one-to-one, so ten dollars becomes ten USDC.

Not Bitcoin or Ether. The moep wallet only spends USDC.

  4. Send it on the Base network

From your USDC balance, choose Send. Paste the moep motion wallet address:

When asked which network to send on, pick Base. This is the most important choice on the page. The fee is a fraction of a cent and it usually lands in under a minute.

Network matters. Send on Base only. On Ethereum, Solana, or any other network the funds will not reach the wallet and cannot be recovered. When in doubt, send one dollar first as a test.

Watch the balance update live on BaseScan. Every cent goes to motion.

A few honest answers

Is this safe?

You send a small, fixed amount from a regulated exchange to one address, and USDC holds a steady one-to-one value with the dollar. The only real risk is the wrong network, which is why we say it twice: use Base.

What does my money pay for?

Just the motion. Most of moep is nearly free to run; turning a finished painting into its looping video is the expensive part, and the wallet pays that bill clip by clip. The current balance is on the Help build page.

What are the fees?

Coinbase may charge a small fee to buy USDC with a card. Sending on Base costs a fraction of a cent. Nothing on the moep side, and nothing recurring.

Do I have to use Coinbase?

No. Any exchange or wallet that holds USDC and sends on Base works. Coinbase is just the gentlest first step. Only the address and the Base network have to match.
